Game Day 2012
Nebraska fans cheering for Wyoming? Believe it or not it did happen this football season, although it was a few weeks after the Cowboys and Cornhuskers faced off, at the Wyoming FCA Game Day event. A crew from Nebraska joined students from around the cowboy state (Torrington, Cheyenne, Burns, Laramie, Casper, Rock River and Pavillion) to watch Wyoming beat UNLV 41 to 14 on a beautiful October afternoon. The game was not the only event with a positive outcome; FCA Game Day was a tremendous blessing for all who were able to attend as well. With the best attendance we have had in several years, 199 people gathered at First Christian Church before the game to hear Cheyenne FCA staff and former Wyoming football quarterback Karsten Sween (top, far left) lay out the gospel. Karsten used FCA's gospel tract, More Than Winning, as a basis for his message, which focused on why and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He also challenged his audience to find a "Jesus coach," or someone who can help them grow in their walk with Christ. Following Wyoming's win over the Rebels, Wyoming football players Luke Anderson and Luke Ruff shared how God had personally impacted their lives. What a powerful wrap up to an awesome day!
