Meet Cody

Family:
Married to Leigh Anne
How did you come to know Christ?
I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ early on in life, however I did not take hold of my faith on a more personal level until college. Through time in the Bible and the input of valuable mentors I came to understand the full extent of my sinfulness and in turn my desperate need for Christ. Knowing the power of the gospel has motivated me to help others know God and understand His Word as I continue to grow in my own relationship with Him.
Coach who impacted you:
One of my High School Cross Country/Track coaches, Matt Scott, has had a tremendous influence on my life. I have had several outstanding coaches over the course of my athletic career but Matt took our coach/athlete relationship to the next level by helping me grow as a follower of Christ in addition to growing as an athlete. I still consider him one of my most valuable mentors in life.
Why do you work for FCA?
I want to help people know God as well as understand Him and His Word (the Bible). FCA provides me the opportunity to help people grow in their own relationships with Christ and bring Him glory through their athletic pursuits. What could be better?
Favorite Bible Verse:
Currently… Probably Ephesians 2:1-10, which talks about how Christ brought us from death to life by His grace.
Favorite Sports Team:
Team USA! (I’m track guy…)
Favorite athlete/sports figure:
Jim Ryun; he is one of the greatest runners of all time and also a man of faith who has sought to use his athletic influence for the Gospel.
Other hobbies/passions:
Backpacking, rock climbing, anything outdoors.
