Hello! Welcome to our Wyoming FCA Blog.

We hope that the stories and updates here give you insight into what God is doing in our area through our staff, coaches, athletes and volunteers and help connect our Fellowship of Christian Athletes community in our western and eastern regions as well as nationally, and even internationally.

That’s why…

To equip and empower our FCA community in Western and Eastern Wyoming, we would like to share with you in this post why we are excited and blessed to have Denver Broncos Team Chaplain, Reza Zadeh as FCA Camp Chaplain at our Spearfish Sports Camp this year (2019):

Backstory on Reza Zadah

Born in Iran in 1977, Reza Zadeh and his family came to the United States when he was three years old (Romono, 2018). Into his teens and college years, Zadeh played football, eventually becoming linebacker for CSU Rams in 1997-99 (Gill, 2019).

While in college, Zadeh committed his life to Jesus through Athletes in Action. Then, in 2014, Zadeh and his wife became staff for Athletes in Action, the very ministry that had impacted him years earlier (Gill, 2019).

Since then, Team Zadeh continues to expand their ministry missions and outreaches with several foundations and charitable projects, including partnering up with FCA in Windsor Highschools.

To hear more about his testimony, check out the Sport Spectrum Podcast with Zadeh talking about his faith, his family coming to the U.S., his passion for pro and college sports ministries and more...

Ministering to College and Pro Athletes

Today, Reza serves as the Front Range Director for Athletes in Action and as the Chaplain for Denver Broncos. As Denver Broncos Chaplain, he provides a Bible study for coaches and players, along with his wife Allyson who ministers to their wives (Gill, 2019).

"Be praying for our work with these great men and women. They have such incredible opportunities to influence others and we want to be a resource for them and the organization.

My hope is that Allyson and I can come alongside these athletes (and wives) who have an incredible platform in our culture and help them see their athletic platform as an opportunity to live for eternal things."

Lined up for FCA Camp Chaplain

As you can see, there are a lot of reasons why we are looking forward to Zadeh as our FCA Camp Chaplain this summer in Spearfish!

Even more than that, we feel blessed to continue partnering up with Zadeh as the Athletes in Action Front Range Director.  In case you missed it, Next Level Retreat 2019 was a great event that ministered to over a hundred college athletes, from Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Athletes in Action.

Located in Estes Park, this annual winter retreat brings together Wyoming and Colorado college athletes (mostly who are rivals!) to worship and grow in the relationship with Jesus.

Just check out what Aaron Frude, UW FCA Director, shared on Facebook about the significance of the retreat:
