Once again, we are blessed to report God’s faithful work in using the FCA Rockies Region and the South Pacific Global Region Partnership, to further the work of seeing the WORLD impacted by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. We are grateful for God’s provision, through the local prayer and financial support in the US, which were essential to allowing members of the Rockies Region FCA to travel to New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines for a time of Learning, Launching, and Loading!
Dan Brittan, Mike Sanfratello and Regional International Coordinator (RIC) Aaron Frude, spent time in New Zealand and were a part of continuing toLEARN more about the sports ministry culture in the country, as well as continue to develop strategic partnering relationships. The team was able to engage in 5 key meetings with 22 individuals for fellowship, 3D Coaching training and vision casting, and was even able to get on the airways in New Zealand with a radio interview on a local Christian station.
Australia saw the team travel to 5 different cities, participate in 14 different meetings and engage with 331 people. It was time for our local Aussies, who we have been developing relationships with, to LAUNCH ministry with local coaches and athletes. It has been a slow journey but we are excited to see fruit to our labor as they are moving the ball down the field by putting together meetings for athletes to “huddle” up to discuss faith and sport, coaches to participate in 3D Coaching training, and volunteers and pastors to hear the vision behind what our teammates are calling ID Australia, which is the ministry to help athletes and coaches place their identity in Christ.
In the Philippines, Rockies team members Andrew Powell, Mark Anderson, Tina Snover, and Merlinn Beckwith helped serve our Filipino FCA teammates by helping lead and participate in 2 different camps in La Carlota City, and Tagum city, as well as engage in a coach’s ministry breakfast, and opportunities to preach and share in two different local churches. With the two camps, the team connected with 447 individuals in 5 days, with 369 campers, 22 coaches and another 56 volunteer leaders, prior to their time at the annual FCA Philippines Summit. At the conclusion of the Tagum City camp, Andrew and Merlinn shared the Gospel and testimonies at the “Fields of Faith” closing event. What an encouragement to see a response of 194 athletes make an indication of a faith commitment to Christ by the time the camp and the event were over. All praise and glory to Jesus!
The cherry on top of the trip was reconnecting with the FCA Philippines leaders--many veterans and several new additions for 2019--for the annual summit meetings in Tagum City. It was a time to LOAD up our ministry leaders with encouragement, and training as they will now go back to serve coaches and athletes in 21 cities around the country. The entire US team, Mike, Aaron, Dan, Drew, Tina, Mark, Merlinn, brought the total number of attendees at the Summit to 40 participants, as they joined in encouraging and ministering to the Filipino staff. We were able to hear of the fruit of the 2018 Summit with some excellent reporting of lives touched through the FCA ministry throughout 2018, and look forward to hearing of the impact in 2019 due to our inspired leaders!
